A fully funded 4-year PhD position supported by an SNSF Ambizione grant is available in the team of Dr. Polina Isaikina, hosted by Prof. Jörg Standfuss at the Paul Scherrer Institute. The project combines advanced structural biology and biophysical methods to investigate the molecular mechanisms of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in time-resolved manner. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the Life Science Zürich Graduate School at the University of Zürich, benefiting from a comprehensive and international PhD training program.
Starting date: February 1, 2026
Your profile:
•MSc in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, or a related discipline completed before February 2026.
•Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: cryo-EM, membrane protein biochemistry/biophysics, X-ray crystallography, spectroscopy.
•Strong motivation to work on ambitious, interdisciplinary projects at the frontier of structural biology.
