Postdoctoral position available at MCW -- RNA structure

Medical College of Wisconsin , Milwaukee, United States
Application deadline: 19 Sep 2025

A postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Yaqiang Wang, Ph.D. in the Department of Biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, to study the structure and function of RNA using cryo-EM.

Their lab investigates how the structures of noncoding RNAs contribute to cancer and rare diseases, with a particular focus on their recognition by protein partners and small molecules. By elucidating RNA’s role at the atomic level in driving disease, they aim to leverage these mechanistic insights to identify novel therapeutic strategies.

They take an integrative structural biology approach, combining cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, chemical probing, biochemical assays, and high-throughput screening for drug discovery. The postdoctoral fellow will have full access to these state-of-the-art facilities and resources.

Candidates with experience in structural biology and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply. Interested individuals should send a single PDF containing a CV, a statement of research interests, and contact information for three references to: yawang@mcw.edu (Lab Website )
