Applications are now open for the ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer for MALDIBANK.

One of the aims of MALDIBANK is to create a global, cloud-based, open-access platform for microbial MALDI-TOF MS spectra to improve the identification of microorganisms. To support this goal and help build training capacity across the consortium, a special edition of the renowned ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer course is being organised exclusively for MALDIBANK participants.

  • Dates: 18-21 January 2027
  • Format: Online (streamed)
  • Schedule: Four half-day sessions, each afternoon from 14:00 to 17:30 CET
  • Application deadline: 06 January 2027

This course is designed for current and future trainers involved in MALDIBANK activities, particularly those working on spectra acquisition. No specific technical background is required.

Over four interactive sessions, participants will explore:

  • Principles of learning and how they apply to training and teaching
  • Designing and planning training sessions, courses, and materials
  • Enhancing learner participation and engagement
  • Assessment and feedback in training and teaching

The course is highly interactive, and active participation throughout all sessions is essential. It will be particularly beneficial if you have ever asked yourself:

  • How does learning work?
  • How can I make my teaching more engaging and effective?
  • How should I adapt my teaching to different types of learners?
  • How can I assess whether learners are truly understanding and learning?
  • What is the right balance between theory and practice?
  • What teaching strategies work well, and which do not?

The course will be delivered by: Luciana Peixoto, Valeria Di Cola & Patricia Palagi

We encourage anyone interested to submit their application by completing the registration form.
