MALDIBANK is a pioneering EU-funded initiative developing an open, cloud-based databank of MALDI mass spectrometry spectra, combined with innovative algorithmic tools for microorganism identification.

The first webinar in the MALDIBANK series will provide an introduction to the project and its relevance to current and prospective MALDI-TOF users. Experts from the MALDIBANK consortium will introduce the fundamentals and benefits of MALDI-TOF technology and present the project's approach to data, infrastructure, and services.

The webinar will be particularly relevant for those who are new to MALDI technology and wish to gain a better understanding of its potential applications and opportunities.

Programme highlights

  • MALDIBANK: The Project at a Glance – Ana Portugal (MIRRI-ERIC, PT) & Michel-Yves Mistou (INRAE, FR)
  • The Technology Behind MALDIBANK – Anne-Cécile Normand (Sorbonne Université, FR)
  • The MALDIBANK Infrastructure – Marco Becutti (UNITO, IT)
  • MALDIBANK Database – Pierre Becker (Sciensano, BE)
  • From Science to Market – Michel-Yves Mistou (INRAE, FR), Theodora Katsila (NHRF, GR) & Morgane Daumas (Institut Pasteur, FR)
  • Q&A session

The webinar is particularly aimed at researchers, laboratory professionals, industry representatives, and other stakeholders interested in MALDI-TOF technology and its applications for microorganism identification.

Whether you are already working with MALDI-TOF or are considering its applications for your organisation, this webinar will provide an opportunity to learn more about the technology and discover what MALDIBANK will offer.
