We are looking for three researchers to join our laboratory at Instituto Biofisika (Bilbao, Spain), funded by the ERC Advanced Grant project T6S-PoreMech, which combines single-particle cryo-EM, membrane protein biochemistry, and single-channel electrophysiology to resolve the architecture of Type VI secretion system pore-forming toxins.

• Postdoc 1 - Biophysics and toxin function: in vivo and in vitro functional characterisation of T6SS pore-forming toxins.
• Postdoc 2 - Cryo-EM and structural biology: high-resolution structures of active toxin pores in nanodiscs and of toxin-immunity complexes.
• Technical specialist - Protein biochemistry: expression and purification of challenging bacterial membrane proteins and pore-forming toxins, and support across all project pillars.

Conditions: 2-year contracts, renewable for up to 2 additional years. Competitive salary. Start date from 2027 (flexible). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis from 1 September 2026 until the positions are filled.
